Who is Banksy?
Banksy is an inspirational and anonymous graffiti artist from Britian. Some believe that he began painting in the late 1980’s during the great aerosol boom. His artwork is often satirical revolving around politics, ethics and culture. He has become known for his unique stenciling technique which can be seen in a vast majority of his street art. One source states that the inspiration of his stenciling technique came from hiding from police under a train, where he noticed the stenciled serial number.
His artwork ranges from thought provoking to flat out hilarious conveying many messages from anti-war to anti-establishment. Loved for his creativity and despised for his utter disregard for authority Banksy can be called a true revolutionary not just in the realm of art, but also the world.
His sometimes subtle and simplistic, yet creative style speaks volumes to those who take the time to quietly observe it for a moment.
